Kirk Gibson 1984 World Series Home Run

Kirk Gibson faces Hall of Famer “Goose” Gossage in the 1984 World Series. Padres manager Dick Williams wanted Goose to walk Gibby. Gossage refused. Sparky Anderson would yell at Gibby from the Tigers’ dugout, “He don’t want to walk you!”, and motioned to Gibby to swing away. Gibby delivered the very first pitch into the upper deck in right field, and the rest is history! Gibby’s triumphant fist-pumping return to the dugout in front of the crazed Tigers fans will be etched in our minds forever….”Bless You Boys!”
